Where we are now
We are now at Recreation Plantation, an RV resort in Central Florida, near the Villages. Due to the COVID pandemic we were not able to spend the winter in Key West. We have many of our Key West friends in the same park and look forward to good time. We’ll be here until early March.

A Side Trip to Tacoma – July 2020
It has been an unofficial tradition when we go to the Smith family cottage for some of our kids and grandkids to fly from Washington to Michigan to join us. However, with conflicting schedules and the Corona Virus it was … Continue reading
Hiking Mount Rainer – August 2019
You can’t be in the Seattle/Tacoma area and not know about Mount Rainer. On a clear day it is visible from almost everywhere. In my opinion it is one of the best attractions in the area. We were able to … Continue reading

Junior Rangers at Mount Rainer, August 2016
Mount Rainer dominates the eastern skyline of the Seattle/Tacoma area. A volcano that made its last major eruption too long ago to remember, it is still an active volcano. We were able to have our three granddaughters stay with us … Continue reading

Olympic National Park is a million acres in the Olympic Peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and Puget Sound. The park is unique in that it is actually three parks in one. First, there is the temperate rain forest in the … Continue reading
Whidbey Island, WA – July 2016
Whidbey Island is located in Puget Sound, north of Seattle. Our reason for traveling to Whidbey Island may seem a bit strange. Many, many years ago I saw one of those disaster movies where the President and First Family were … Continue reading
We Finally Made It To Washington
We began our journey to Washington in March and, eleven states later, we arrived at Camp Murray Beach Campground near Lakewood, WA on May 25th. At the risk of revealing a great secret, Camp Murray Beach is a hidden jewel. … Continue reading
Tacoma, WA – September 2014 – Part Three
We returned to Camp Murray to an ideal campsite, right on the shore of American Lake. That evening Scott and I attended a program at the twins school about DOGS (Dads Of Great Students). This is a program to get … Continue reading
Tacoma, WA – September 2014 – Part Two
Grayland Beach State Park is right on the Pacific coast, just south of the small fishing town of Westport, WA. The campground is very nice and I would definitely call it “big rig friendly,” the roads are wide and the … Continue reading
